1 Knot Pendant by Brokis
This series of four pendants from Czech lighting brand is defined by its textured rope cords, which are knotted at the bottom to hold aloft shades made from Brokis’s signature hand-blown glass. Their uniquely bulbous forms were created by Venice’s , which also capped the tinted glass shades with spun brass hardware. A custom LED light source, tucked discreetly behind a rounded diffuser at the top of the shade, emits a warm glow.
2 Nobile Bench by Draenert
is best known for its stone-topped tables, but the German brand has also offered complementary seating and sideboards for years. Italian designer has now expanded his streamlined Nobile collection of dining chairs, first introduced in 2006, to include this lightweight yet stable and comfy bench, which will be available in two sizes and a range of upholstery options.
3 BO Sofa by Piet Boon
With its gently rounded corners and friendly looking curves, BO is intended to add a welcoming place to sit to any social setting. Its versatile modular structure means that BO can be open and winding, or closed and intimate, allowing it to adapt to a range of different atmospheres. Dutch brand will offer the sofa in a variety of upholsteries, including leather and velvet-finish fabric.
4 Fidelio Bench by Poltrona Frau
For his Fidelio bench for , designer of Pisa, Italy, placed materials front and centre, combining saddle leather with contrasting stitching and frames in wenge or stained ash. Both the new bench and a re-imagined version of the matching side-table have legs with a rounded-triangular cross section, which dramatically lightens their profile.
5 Leaf Collection by TON
Czech brand TON will use the imm Cologne fair to exhibit its Leaf collection of chairs and barstools — which has already claimed a 2017 German Design Award — for the first time. Designed by Florence studio, Leaf joins solid wood frames to moulded plywood seats and backrests with visually distinctive curving flares. Round and rectangular tables complete the nature-inspired collection.
