The Innovators Issue: Junya Ishigama's genre-busting architecture, Sidewalk Labs and the future of the city, and more!

1. Mantó by Poltrona Frau

This traditional form features a cape-like cover that’s completely removeable. In an ode to haute couture, the pleats are hand-stitched to create the pinched wave pattern, available in either leather or fabric. The beech and poplar plywood frame sits on solid ash feet.

2. MASSAS for Moroso

Moroso’s new line, which stands for Moroso Asymmetric Sofa System Adorably Stitched, from long-time collaborator Patricia Urquiola also pushes the craft of stitching. Big and bold-edged, the fantastic angular form resembles a building envelope not unlike Olafur Eliasson’s facade for the Reykjavík Concert Hall.

3. Vita by Bonaldo

This sculpturally sleek sofa designed by Mauro Lipparini features an adjustable backrest that can be folded over or raised vertically for maximum comfort. Though subtle, the backrest is also angled back to create a more tub-like shape.

4. La Mise by Cassina

This marks the first time Luca Nichetto collaborates with the manufacturer. Sitting slightly higher than the other sofas, La Mise is soft and slouchy yet refined with its decorative zig-zag stitching.
