Abel Design Group, an award-winning and growing design and architectural firm founded in 2001, is seeking a Project Architect to join its Austin office. The ideal candidate will excel in innovative design solutions and be committed to design excellence. The candidate must possess excellent communication and organizational skills, and strong attention to detail and have extensive experience in workplace design.

This position will focus on Corporate Interiors.

• Implement all phases of projects, including client meetings, field verification, drawing production, material and furniture selection, and construction administration
• Manage client expectations regarding scope, budget, and schedule
• Maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationships
• Manage project staffing, fees, and schedule
• Track and ensure project profitability
• Contribute to office initiatives and learning programs
• Participate in business development and marketing efforts
• Recruit and mentor staff
• Reports to Senior Project Manager or Associate Principal

• 7+ years of relevant architecture or design experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD required; proficiency in AutoCAD Architecture preferred
• Additional software used in the position may include Revit, Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and 3-D Studio MAX
• Experience in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills
• Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills
• Flexibility to focus on multiple projects at the same time
• Knowledge of building materials, construction, and building codes
• Licensure, or working toward licensure preferred

LEED AP preferred
Full understanding of ADA Codes required
